Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is today, a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. The Clinics regularly receive national awards from the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA). Performs and coordinates general building and fixture repairs, serving as the Lead for overall building maintenance, landscaping, and upkeep of grounds and equipment. Ensures facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition by regularly inspecting buildings for required repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness. Provides leadership for maintenance staff and coordinates with outside contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment, and clinic facilities.
  • Manage installations, moves, repairs, and removal of equipment and utilities within the building.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for building systems, equipment, and grounds to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHPD, OSHA, and other applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Contract with, supervise, and coordinate all outside contractors, including telecommunications and security system providers.
  • Lead and mentor maintenance staff to ensure high standards of facility operations.
  • Manage maintenance requests and work orders using the standard ticketing system, ensuring consistent documentation, prioritization, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with clinic staff, IT, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices through continuing education and professional development.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, OSHA regulations, and current health and safety regulations.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, the equipment and facilities to be maintained.
  • Ability to maintain records, warranties, and follow written directions in manuals or manufacturer websites.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of facility maintenance, plumbing, and project management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot, and adapt to changing priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work effectively with staff and contractors at all levels.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Valid California driver’s license and a clean DMV record.
  • Fulfill immunization and fit for duty regulatory requirements.
  • Must be onsite in person 5 days a week, with frequent travel among all MCC locations in Marin County, with possible “on call” on weekends.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer using a mouse and keyboard.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and routine climbing of ladders, stairs, and other structures as needed to inspect and maintain buildings and grounds.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to access and navigate all areas of the facilities and grounds
