Overview

Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is today, a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. The Clinics regularly receive national awards from the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA). Our Mission is to promote health and wellness through excellent, compassionate care for all.

 

The Health Hub Assistant plays a vital role in coordinating the operations of our food pantry distribution, serving over 800 families each week. Responsibilities include organizing food items, ensuring quality and quantity standards are met, welcoming participants, and addressing any inquiries they may have. Additionally, the Health Hub Assistant is responsible for setting up and cleaning up the food pantry area, ensuring that high-quality service is maintained throughout Health Hub hours.

 

Work Schedule (Part-Time): 

  • 30 hours per week (Benefited position)
  • This position requires working at the San Rafael clinic location on Wednesdays and the Novato clinic location on Thursdays: 9:00am to 3:30pm. Saturday work hours and location: 6:30am to 12:30pm, San Rafael clinic location. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and cleanup of the Health Hub, including the lifting and storage of heavy boxes.
  • Support the unloading of food deliveries from the Food Bank/Extra Food.
  • Ensure quality control by checking expiration/use-by dates, and ensuring all food products are safe for consumption.
  • Aid individuals and families with their registration applications.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary environment at the Health Hubs.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills, prioritizing tasks, multitasking, and adapting to changing work demands.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred. 
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in customer service, community-based programs, or healthcare settings.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, volunteers, and the community at large.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of low-income, elderly, disabled, and diverse residents.
  • Strong multitasking skills.

Physical Requirements and working conditions

  • Fulfill Immunization and fit for duty regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Good mobility required for bending and reaching.
  • Being able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
