Overview

Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is today, a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. The Clinics regularly receive national awards from the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA). Our Mission is to promote health and wellness through excellent, compassionate care for all.

 

The Health Hub Supervisor coordinates and oversees the weekly Health Hubs that take place at the San Rafael and Novato clinic locations. Supervises the Health Hub staff, recruits and supervises volunteers, interns, and works as the main point person for all staff assigned to work with the Health Hubs. Furthermore, the Health Hub Supervisor collaborates with the County of Marin and the community-based organizations to build/strengthen relationships and to learn about resources available and works closely with all stakeholders. Information gathered about resources is presented through meetings and trainings to the MCC staff, especially our care navigator staff. 

 

Work Schedule Details:

  • Tuesday through Saturday
  • Work Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 8:00am to 4:30pm/Saturday 6:00am to 2:30pm. 
  • Tuesday work schedule is an administrative work day. 
  • Other days on schedule are off-site at clinic location in Novato and San Rafael California. 

Responsibilities

  • Liaison between San Francisco & Marin Food Bank, Extrafood.org, and all other community partners involved.
  • Recruits, interviews, trains, and manages staff, volunteers, and interns.
  • Develops volunteer policies, job descriptions, and provides support to volunteers and interns.
  • Contacts other community organizations and invites them to participate in the Health Hubs by presenting their services and their community events.
  • Collects and analyzes data on participating families.
  • Creates strategies for compliance and for outreach and enrollment of new individual and families.
  • Works closely with the county and local community-based organizations (CBOs) to identify collaboration opportunities and learn about resources available for our patients.
  • Attends meetings and trainings about outside resources whenever appropriate.
  • Provides reports on yearly food distribution to Controller’s office.
  • Promotes the Health Hubs through presentations whenever appropriate.
  • Collaborates with Development on Community Outreach requests.
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary environment at the Health Hubs and food storage areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree level education desired but not required.
  • 2 years of experience performing business administration duties, including substantial public contact and interviewing for the purpose of gathering information, explaining policies, or clarifying information.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong connection to patient population served by MCC (especially San Rafael Canal neighborhoods and Novato under-served areas)
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel programs.
  • Competency navigating the Internet environment.
  • Good mathematical aptitude.
  • Experience training or education strongly preferred.
  • Must speak, read, and write in English and Spanish.
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Able to understand complex concepts and convey them in a manner that is easily understood by a layperson.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
  • Ability to represent MCC in a professional manner and handle patient issues with cultural sensitivity and confidentiality. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Fulfill Immunization and fit for duty regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to stand 4-5 hours during food distribution.
  • Prolonged standing and walking.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
