Overview

Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is today, a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. The Clinics regularly receive national awards from the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA). Our Mission is to promote health and wellness through excellent, compassionate care for all.

 

The Associate Chief Medical Officer (“ACMO”) plays a pivotal role in supporting clinical excellence by enhancing care quality, improving patient satisfaction and safety, and strengthening care team performance across all clinical services and sites. The ACMO reports to, and collaborates closely with, the CMO to implement clinical initiatives, supervise and mentor clinical leaders, support provider recruitment and retention, and help shape a patient-centered, data-informed culture.

 

The ACMO is also responsible for supporting clinical operations, helping to monitor and optimize financial performance of clinical departments and programs, and supporting federal and state regulatory requirements for Federally Qualified Health Centers. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on clinical leadership and supervision to ensure the delivery of excellent, patient-centered, high-value and culturally responsive care to the communities we serve.

 

This is a full-time role with 50% Administrative time and 50% Clinical Time.

Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities, as delegated by the CMO, may include:

 

· Provide day-to-day clinical oversight, supervision and leadership in coordination with the CMO.

· Assist in recruitment, onboarding, training, credentialing/privileging and evaluation of clinical providers.

· Lead initiatives in quality assurance, performance improvement, and clinical risk management.

· Monitor and facilitate adherence to clinical guidelines and standards of care.

· Participate in audits, quality reviews, and implementation of performance improvement plans.

· Collaborate with health center operations leadership to ensure efficient clinical workflows and optimal patient access.

· Track and support financial performance and financial solvency of clinical programs and departments

· Drive integration of primary care, behavioral health, dental, and other services.

· Help develop and manage clinical policies, procedures, and protocols to support accreditation processes, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements for FQHCs (e.g., HRSA, Joint Commission, CMS).

· Assist the CMO in executing the clinical priorities in the strategic plan

· Participate in planning and implementation of innovative care models, such as value-based care or population health initiatives.

· Represent clinical executive leadership in internal committees, external partnerships and to the MCC Board of Directors, when appropriate.

· Serve as a clinical executive lead during crisis response or public health emergencies.

· Other duties as assigned.

 

Clinical Responsibilities:

· Provide direct primary patient care within scope, serving as a role model for best practices in care delivery and adherence to standardized procedures and protocols.

· Maintains and supports the comprehensive care of a panel of patients consistent with organizational needs and Associate CMO responsibilities.

· Provides patient follow up and referrals as needed and within scope of medical licensure and training.
