Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is today, a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. The Safety Director will manage the development, maintenance, training and application of safety and emergency-related policies and procedures and will maintain compliance with The Joint Commission and Cal/OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations, including the development and oversight of the organization’s Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) and Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP), in alignment with California SB 553 requirements.
The Safety Director is a key advisor to senior leadership and the Board on matters of safety and risk mitigation. The Safety Director will ensure the provision of programs that ensure a safe workplace including safety orientations, skill training, emergency preparedness, workplace violence, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, the use of protective equipment, conduct safety inspections and audits, promote safety awareness, and ensure ongoing education to all employees. The Safety Director will create and present reports on safety performance and incidents and implement or adjust safety practices as needed.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
