 Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is today, a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. The Senior Financial Analyst performs advanced and specialized financial analysis, budget planning, and related fiscal functions. Responsibilities include financial planning, forecasting, and modeling, as well as budget development, performance monitoring, management reporting, and benchmarking. The role also includes preparing in-depth analyses and high-level reports for executive review, providing leadership in fiscal planning processes, and recommending process enhancements for operational efficiency.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Performs highly specialized and complex financial analysis, budget analysis, and related fiscal functions.
  • Performs financial planning, forecasting and modeling, budget development, performance monitoring and management reporting and benchmarking.
  • Prepares and provides complex analysis for review at the leadership and executive level.
  • Provides leadership in the fiscal planning process and recommends process improvements.
  • Supports modeling financial and business impacts.
  • Assists in the development, implementation and management of financial systems, cost accounting systems and/or financial policies and procedures as appropriate
  • Collaborates with auditors and accountants to develop and maintain internal controls for compliance with state and internal audit standards.
  • Provides information to internal/external auditors and management as requested.
  • Coordinates and participates in the preparation of various financial reports, business plans and analyses for management.
  • Develops and revises methodologies for forecasting cost and revenues; develops and maintains electronic system to track the deviations between budgeted forecast and actual levels
  • Develops or coordinates preparation of budgets, program narratives and finance plans; analyzes financial projections and assists managers in developing budget proposals.
  • Participates in the design and implementation of budget and financial system improvements.
  • Uses computer software to model resource scenarios.
  • Plans, develops, and coordinates the preparation of financial analyses and reports including, but not limited to, operational and capital budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses and other financial information for management.
  • Creates cost-benefit analyses, identify resource allocations and equipment costs, create problem escalation plans, manage reporting processes, and establish timelines and milestones
  • Recommends procedures and implements corrective action wherever indicated in operations, areas out of compliance with policy, internal controls and accounting policies, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred or equivalent education and experience.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a healthcare-related discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with budgeting is preferred.
  • Project analysis experience is desirable.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools is advantageous.
  • Experience working with healthcare clinical and operational leadership is highly valued.

  • Familiarity with healthcare finance and reimbursement processes.
  • Awareness of healthcare industry trends, new technologies, and market dynamics.
  • Knowledge of financial systems and their application in managing and analyzing fiscal transactions.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable reports and presentations.
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated customer service mindset in decision-making and operations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
  • Adept at using relevant applications and databases essential for the role.

Covid-19 and Booster Vaccinations requirements: 

 

All employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including "health-care" required boosters as a condition of employment, subject to limited exemptions. New employees are required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and boosted before the first day of employment. If you completed your primary series early boosters, but have not received the most recent booster, you will be required to get the most recent booster and mask until competed if hired.
