  • Overview

    Per Diem Physical Therapist will provide culturally competent physical therapy to Marin Community Clinics Patients.

     

    Therapist will evaluate, treat and set goals deemed effective based on individual patient needs circumstances. Therapist will works within clinic circumstances to provided effective physical therapy.  Therapist will manage and co-lead group(s) of back and chronic pain classes and provide patient education and preventative care.

     

    Position supports Marin Community Clinics in San Rafael, Novato, and Larkspur. 

     

    Responsibilities

    Use exercises, stretching, hands-on therapy, and home exercise program to ease patients’ pain, help patients increase their mobility, prevent further pain or injury, and facilitate health and wellness.
    Establish treatment goals for patients.
    Use different physical therapy techniques to treat injuries and pain.
    Educate patients and their families about what to expect from and how best to cope with recovery processes.
    Develop and generates educational handout for groups.
    Complete patient charting on NextGen Electronic Health Records (EHR).

    Qualifications

    Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral degree with certification in physical therapy.

    License to practice physical therapy in the state of California.

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

    Ability to use computers and have experience in Microsoft Office applications.

    Experience in charting via Electronic Health Records a plus.

    Experience with NextGen preferred but not required.

    Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

    Strong observational skills to diagnose patient’s problems and evaluate treatments to provide effective care.

    Ability to move around and use hands to provide manual therapy and therapeutic exercises.

    Effective communications skills to explain treatment programs and motivate patients.

    Excellent listening skills to listen to patients’ concerns to provide effective therapy.

    Ability to lead physical therapy in a group environment setting.
